Welcome aboard! I might be needing your warm welcome as I venture on my first article here on flyhighmanila. It took me sometime to think about what to write; the grandiosity of aviation, best travel destinations, what’s there to hate or obsess with in this field, and the list goes on. So i thought, why not write about my life journey to start off? Nothing else is better than to introduce myself with a brief autobiography.
After realizing that I practically went around 4 major line of businesses in the aviation industry, I believe that I earned the badge to humbly share my experiences. Hence, the title “certified av geek”. I’ve greeted countless faces with “Mabuhay!” as a Ground/Office Support, painted the skies red as a cabin crew, for a brief moment joined the academe as an aspiring cabin crew trainer, and lastly, as a guest reservations for international airline. Now, if this isn’t passion, I don’t know what it is. I am 35 and you may think mine was a long journey. Yes, it was, but hardwork and perseverance is what brought me to where I am now. Aviation has indeed been my constant!
My life, although, not a visible in my social mediums was then a period of uncertainty. A boy with a messed up family who rebelled before even realizing what he really wanted and didn’t. My Dad asked me once “ikaw Jef may gusto ka ba itanong para sa sarili mong buhay?”. I was 12 and that was such heavy pressure to answer and the only question that came to my mind was “Do I still have a future?”. To anyone who is asking the same question right now, whether you are an aspiring cabin crew, you have lost your job, or have no idea what to do with your life especially in this crazy time of pandemic, I will say this to you out of my own true to life experiences that the answer is yes and it is YOU and HIM above. You have a future. Keep the hope within you burning!
True enough, I was caught up in the industry where the destination is never ending! Life definitely leads to somewhere youre meant for. You just gotta believe! Flying with you soon…
