Recalling some destinations that are difficult to fly to

“Difficult destinations” can be defined by using various reasons. So here I am, recalling some destinations that are difficult to fly to. I work in an International airline based in the Philippines and there would be a number of definitions for said flights as per my colleagues. Some may describe Hong Kong flights to be challenging because for a 2-hour flight, we still have a full meal service. Others would say flights to America would be one as well for there would be a lot of meals to be served during the duration of the entire flight. Some would mention medium haul flights (those who have an approximate flying time of 8 hours), for the layovers are short.

You would not have optimal time to rest. Others would say the ultra long ones for they are, obviously, ultra long. Flights that are around 16 hours long, more or less. There are a few that would mention a couple of destinations for they find it difficult in communicating with passengers because of the language barrier. Or some would base their decision on the profiles of the passengers given specific destinations.

These flights are all the same to me

As for me, I look at flights the same way. Whenever I work, regardless of destination, I am certain that as much as possible, I’m ready to do my job. Short or long flying times, full of passengers or not, whatever the scenario may be, I make sure to deliver the best service that I can. Yes, every now and then, I may notice that some flights are not as tiring as others, or some would have instances that passengers may need extra attention but overall, it doesn’t carry much weight for me. I am in the customer service industry, moreso a cabin crew, so my primary priority is to make sure that all my passengers depart and arrive to their destination safely.

I will give the same focus with regards to safety whether a passenger would be sleeping the entire flight or would request for something every 15 minutes. And in relation to the customer service aspect of the job, I am also there to provide comfort. My work gives me the opportunity to have customers that are from different backgrounds, have various attitudes, numerous ethnicities among other reasons that show diversity. And with this, I have to use all the skills that I have learned to adjust, accommodate and take care of my passengers. So at the end of the day, I am prepared for this.

Which is why I don’t really notice the “difficult destinations”. Instead, what I focus on is to give my best whatever flight I take. Because it is my job and my customers deserve exceptional service everytime. #AmorSpeaks
