This flight attendant secret skincare routine is really simple

What is your skincare routine as a cabin crew? This is one of the most asked questions that I get and unfortunately, my answer is not as exciting as one would expect. All I can say is that this flight attendant secret skincare routine is really simple. Some people have a 5, 10 or even a 15 step program. Others go to the dermatologist monthly or even weekly. And how I wish I would have the opportunity to do such. I heard it’s very relaxing. But again, my answer to this question is very simple, well for me it is.

Just a short story, looking back when I was younger, I remember a couple of things I did due to my mom’s suggestions or from a routine I saw from others. When I was a kid, I can recall my mother giving me calamansi slices to rub on to my elbows, knees and nape. A couple of years after, she would buy Eskinol and would require me to use it every now and then. I wasn’t particular of the soap I use either but I remember there was always a couple of soaps available at home. There would often be a moisturizing soap accessible for the face, a papaya soap and an antibacterial soap for everything else. And we still practice that up to now.

My skincare routine when I started working

When I started working, I earned some money to buy things on my own so I used a St. Yves facial scrub for I saw how a lot of people I know used that product and I can truly feel how smoother my skin is after every wash. I used it or a couple of years until I didn’t. Beauché was also being introduced to me as it was popular with my co-workers in the airline. I supported that soap for a long time. I think I even used to buy it in bulk, until again, for some unknown reason I stopped using it.

My most recent purchase, as recommended by a Japanese colleague, is a Shiseido Aqualabel Lotion that I used everyday for a year or so until the past few months and lately, it has been sitting in my closet. Every now and then I would try something which was advised by someone I know or something I saw somewhere but to tell you honestly, I’m super lazy with doing skincare so that is why I really don’t have any routine that I stick to. And more often than not, I do nothing at all.

My flight attendant skincare routine

But for the last 5 years, I think I found something consistent. I can’t really say it works or you can consider it as skincare but it makes me feel good. After all, we are all going to age anyway and to be honest, I don’t really mind getting older. I mean, we all will. It’s inevitable. And regardless of what I would look like, or how many wrinkles I’d get, I’d still be a kid by heart. So going back, this is how I would answer that question now:

  • Take collagen.
  • I drink lots of water.
  • Double my intake of positivity.

Like what I mentioned earlier, nothing out of the ordinary. Age is just a number and instead of worrying about getting older, I’d rather focus on being happier and healthier. The products I mentioned are not sponsored by the way but if someone would, why not? But seriously tho, with regard to skincare, there is something that works for us and something that won’t. You’ll find out through trial and error or a trip to the dermatologist would help a lot. I do hope you find something that matches your skin type but more importantly, whatever routine you have, whether you even have one or not – I wish you’re happy. I think that’s the key. It will not just make you look good, it will make you feel better too. #AmorSpeak
