Someone asked my what my flight attendant story is

Someone asked me what my flight attendant story is, and I am happy to share it.

Just like how some of you are, or were a few years back, I was a college student. It was February, graduation was coming in a month and I had no idea of what to do with my life.

I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Business Administration. So it was most likely that I would take the corporate office route or somewhere similar. But I didn’t want that.

For some reason, I wanted to be a teacher and during that time, there was a demand for educators in the US. So during our school’s job fair, I did what every graduating student would do. Pass my resume to all the companies that would accept them. And I took extra effort in making sure to submit my resume in schools and training centers with a goal to apply for a teaching position. But then, I found out that I should have had a couple units of education subjects to even just be considered.

What am I to do? I had an epiphany. Why not submit my resume to an airline company and be the one to take the teachers to the US instead? That simple. And there was this one airline company during the job fair and I gave them a copy of my resume. Not knowing what the job truly entailed and without any knowledge of the industry.

Joining the airline industry

Because of all the resumes I passed to numerous companies, I got a couple of job interviews. I used them as practice for my potential interview with the airline. I prepared and had the right perspective, and by God’s grace, that interview was my perfect timing for I got in!

Fast forward a few years, I am still flying for the said airline. And somehow, I still got that opportunity to be somewhat of a teacher for I also am an external trainer for the same company. Other than that, I am a motivational speaker and a consultant with my brand #AmorSpeaks.

Looking back at that month of February, and if given the chance to talk to that confused boy and tell him how his life would turn out, I am certain he would just laugh and not believe it. But here we are.

So, if you are confused right now, don’t worry, everything will fall into place. Just have faith and continue to move forward. Prepare and have a positive perspective. And hopefully, you will also get that perfect timing. It may not be something that you have planned for but it will be where you are supposed to be. Something even better than what you have imagined.
