Tips to travel away from pandemic trouble

Tips to travel away from pandemic trouble

Now that domestic and international borders are gradually opening, the economy is starting to grind once again and more people can now be seen out of their houses.  With the collaborative efforts by our global leaders and the national government, these indicate that after a year of self-isolation and long quarantine days, hope springs up throughout our helpless thoughts.

The little freedom that we are having today does not guarantee our safety outside of our homes. We’re still in a crisis and precautions must be applied at its best. Everybody craves  to travel, especially now that the world is healing.  Slowly, we are getting better. Before you get excited, here are some safety tips to keep in mind before backpacking your things again.

Restrictions will still be present. Check local requirements first.

Whether the borders are open, protocols and restrictions are still present in the respective international or domestic destinations in order to keep the safety of their locals as well. To save yourself from unpleasant surprises, check for restrictions first.

Consider getting tested before travelling.

For vaccinated people, if you have been fully vaccinated, you do not need to get tested before or after your trip or quarantine after you return but one should not be complacent of its safety. Keep in mind that restrictions can change rapidly depending on local conditions. It’s also important to be aware of the COVID-19 situation, such as the level of spread and presence of variants in each country. Check back for updates as your trip gets closer especially when you’re boarding internationally.

If you are not vaccinated yet, get tested before travelling domestically to reduce the risk of the spreading. Keep a copy of your results with you when you travel for safety and proof whenever it is needed. If at any point you test positive, stay home. Immediately isolate yourself if you develop symptoms and follow public health recommendations.

For a Safer Air Travel

It has been said that viruses don’t spread easily on flights because of how air circulates inside the plane. However, air travel involves spending time in security lines and airport terminals which can bring you in close contact with other people. It makes social distancing difficult to maintain.

Although, cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and equipment including bins at screening checkpoints are regularly maintained, it’s the volume of people that security has to keep an eye on.

Travelers must wear masks during screening and when getting in the plane. In short, wear a mask at all times.

Airport security screening will still be regulated; so, keep your personal items such as keys, wallets and phones close to you and your travel requirements as well.

Be sure to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds directly before and after going through screening.

Pack your health and safety Kits

Make sure that these things are present on your list. Grab any medicines you may need on your trip and these essential safe-travel supplies such as face masks, tissues, sanitizers, disinfectant wipes, and thermometer if it’s possible. These are just as important as you are.

It is very important to self-evaluate because health is one of the most crucial aspects to consider. No matter how good your travel plans are, check yourself first.  Be smart on planning ahead and travel smart to ensure a seamless travel along your way.
