Qatar Airways has also opened its flight attendant hiring in other countries like North America, Europe, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and a few other countries. Unfortunately, the Philippines is still not yet included but hopefully, they will.

According to former Qatar Airways flight attendant Katherine Alano-Sicat, the airline looks loyal employees who will put great value in their jobs as flight attendants. So basically during your interview, you have to show these with the way you answer the interview questions. You may not be asked questions like “will you be loyal to us” however, recruiters may ask you situational questions that would tell them if you are loyal and how you will value your job. This is also the reason why your “why” greatly matters.
Team player and hard working
A Qatar Airways flight attendant is known to be a good team player, hardworking, and dedicated to the job, shared Kath. “If you want to become one ask yourself if you have these attributes. During your interview make sure that you are able to show the recruiters that these are the qualities that you want bring to the table once you are hired,” shared Kath Alano-Sicat.
Preparing for the Qatar Airways flight attendant recruitment
Now, if you intend to pursue this job opening as a flight attendant of Qatar Airways, you might want to take these few tips.
“First of all, make a solid resume. The application is online and the recruiters will only get a glimpse of who you are through your resume,” shared Kath. If you have previous work experience, please do include all information like for how long and what position. If you are an undergraduate, please be honest about it. Integrity matters a lot in the airline industry at all times.
If you will be sending your resumes via email, please do not just send an email with an attachment without a subject line and a body letter. A simple “I am interested to apply as a flight attendant in your airline. Attached is my CV/resume for your perusal” would matter a lot. Why? This shows that you treat your future employers with respect and dignity. Many people nowadays just email their resume without a subject line and a body or cover letter. These little things do matter a lot and may spell the difference between being considered or not.
There may be changes in the recruitment process
Always be prepared. According to Kath, “you have to be patient because this recruitment process might be more tedious than how it was before.” It may take longer with more interviews and processes. In other words, preparation is key and never take this lightly.
Now if you make it through the recruitment, prepare for the grueling training. While the training duration of airlines in the Philippines is 70 days approximately, Qatar Airways’ is 45 days. This includes safety and security, first aid, service training, and ditching. Hence, it is a more packed training and intensive training program.
