A few days ago, we posted that Delta Air Lines is already hiring cabin crew! Then yesterday, Delta said that they are doubling the number of flight attendants they are hiring to 3,000 before the Summer of 2022!
Thanks to the rebound of air travel in the United States, more carriers are recalling furloughed cabin crew and some are already hiring new flight attendants. Delta was actually in the process of filling 1,500 flight attendant jobs with candidates whose hiring was paused at the start of the pandemic in 2020.
In fact, the air travel demand in the U.S. rebounded fast that some airlines had to cancel some flights not due to a lockdown, but due to the lack of staff!
All Delta flight attendants should be vaccinated against Covid-19
It is now a requirement for all Delta flight attendants including applicants to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Whoever will not take the vaccine by November will be charged $200 for health insurance.
Becoming a Delta cabin crew however is difficult. Standards are high. Despite that, a lot of applicants do take their chance to become a flight attendant in Delta. In 2010, Delta hired 1,000 new flight attendants out of the 100,000 who have applied!
