The Important Things You Need To Know Before Applying at Emirates

If you’re somebody who dreams of becoming a flight attendant and Emirates is one of your dream airlines then you need to know the important things before applying to Emirates.

1. You will need to move to Dubai

In applying at Emirates, you will be living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. If you are somebody who lives outside the country then you would need to fly and move to Dubai. It means that you would have to say goodbye for now to friends and family or loved ones.

2. Your Accommodation

Once you’re hired, Emirates will provide you accommodation for free and this is just one of the things that the Emirates will provide for you for free. As per the rules of Emirates, you would need to share this apartment with other crew members.

3. You’ll develop into a multi-talented individual.

When you start training, Emirates will transform you to become a personal brand. It means that you have to be very very sharp because during your training you will drink, you will eat, you will sleep, and you will breathe. Emirates will train you how to handle emergency procedures, security incidents, medical cases and so much more. In Emirates, you will have a lot of practical drills and also computer-based exams. On the other hand, once you complete the training in Emirates you can finally say that you achieved it and you can now face the world of flight attendants.

4. You will need to swim

We all know that when you want to become a flight attendant you should know how to swim but in Emirates you don’t need to formally know all the strokes such as breaststrokes, backstrokes, and butterfly strokes like you don’t need to know all those kinds of strokes. In Emirates, you need to know how to swim to get from this point to that point.

5. You cannot take leave while you are on probation

In Emirates, you cannot have leave while on probation and did you know that the probation in Emirates is six months. As you’re now done in training, Emirates will put you online, and remember that the rules keep changing. To become a flight attendant in Emirates you should toughen up and you must get through the feeling of homesickness.

6. To keep your license current, you must take a recurrent exam every year

Every year in Emirates, the cabin crew renew their license. If you pass the training you will have a license which will be valid for a year. For you to renew that license you would need to go through recurrent training. This is like a “refreshers course” which involves examinations and practical assessments.

7. Your first job will be as a member of an economy crew.

In Emirates, there are five cabin crew positions namely economy crew, business class crew, first-class crew, cabin supervisor, and lastly the purser.
